2024 Funding Award for Practice-oriented Development Research

The award aims to promote dialog between science and practice and honors outstanding research that deepens our understanding of how development happens, succeeds or can be supported. The prize is aimed at young scientists and honors three doctoral theses that combine scientific excellence and practical relevance for development policy. Theses in German or English from the field of development research in the social sciences will be considered. The doctoral theses must have been completed in the calendar year 2023 and have already been reviewed and rated at least magna cum laude at the time of application.

The award will be presented at the next annual meeting of the Standing Field Committee on Development Economics. The meeting will take place on May 23 and 24, 2024 in Hanover.
